Some people call it a poncho liner, others call it a woobie. If you've ever been wrapped in one, you have nothing but fond memories of the times this masterpiece swaddled your body and loved you like only a human-sized burrito wrap protecting you from the harsh and unforgiving world, could.

If you've NEVER had the distinct pleasure of being inside of the comfiest piece of military standard issue equipment ever created, then we truly must insist you get one.

-

The USGI Poncho Liner or, "woobie" made its first appearance sometime around 1962 in Vietnam, when special forces were given them as the alternative to the USGI wool blanket, which fell flat in the humid jungle. Since then, this magnificent piece of gear has completely transcended its original use, and is now a staple in the homes of veterans and comfy people alike.

-

Even when soaking wet, the 3-ply quilted nylon blanket expertly traps body heat when you need it the most, and since it's quick-drying, it probably won't stay wet for long anyways.

-

Use it as a couch blanket, in your hammock, sleeping bag, rolled up as a pillow, or just as a source of comfort as you microwave that second box of pizza rolls after the break-up.

Care:

Keep your woobie away from fire unless you want to be wrapped in a melted plastic exoskeleton of misery. Wash when necessary with warm water and mild soap.
